I sat down to write to you about setting good intentions for October (saving that for next month!), but I can't shake the heavy heart I feel over what happened in Las Vegas.
It's days like today when I feel a little helpless, because I'm not directly helping those affected.
And then I remember: we have the power to make our own corners of the world a little bit brighter each day.
This is POWERFUL stuff, so I'll say it again: we have the power to make our own corners of the world a little bit brighter each day.
What I mean is:
Say hi to a stranger.
Leave an extra tip.
Thank your barista.
Hold the door open.
These things might seem small, but they make a difference - I promise.
Think of small acts of kindness as a little pebble you drop in a pond, creating bigger and bigger ripples. These ripples are the people you're impacting by doing something that takes less than 10 seconds. 10 seconds! Isn't it a no-brainer?
And - spoiler alert - when we're genuinely nice to others, it usually makes us feel awesome, too.
So be kind today, to others and to yourself. Everyone's fighting their own battles, and we have so many opportunities to be a light in the darkness.
I'd love to hear from you: how are you showing kindness today?
